PUTTING PATIENTS FIRST

Your Concerns Shape Our Approach

New patients often arrive having had past dental experiences that left them with doubts, or having put off dental care for longer than they intended. Both are common, and both are something our team is familiar with.

At our practice, every appointment opens with a conversation about what has prompted your visit. Your dentist will take you through what the assessment shows, outline the options relevant to your situation, and answer questions before any treatment is considered.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Yes. Fluoride treatments are available as part of preventive care for children and adults. Fluoride helps to strengthen tooth enamel and may reduce the risk of decay over time. Our team will advise whether fluoride treatment is appropriate based on your child’s age, diet, and oral health at each check-up.

Early signs of gum disease can include gums that bleed during brushing, persistent bad breath, gum swelling or redness, and gums that appear to be receding from the tooth surface. These signs are worth raising at your next check-up. Early detection allows for more straightforward management and helps protect your long-term oral health.

The frequency of dental X-rays depends on your individual oral health, age, risk of decay, and history of dental treatment. Your dentist will assess whether X-rays are clinically appropriate at each visit. For most adults with good oral health and low risk, X-rays may be recommended every one to two years.

A dental crown is a cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, and function. Treatment typically involves two visits: one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and a second to fit the permanent crown. Your dentist will explain the process and timeline at your consultation.

Not always. The appropriate treatment for tooth decay depends on how far it has progressed. In very early stages, decay may be managed with fluoride application and improved oral hygiene. Once decay has reached a certain depth within the tooth, a filling is generally required to restore the affected area and protect the remaining tooth structure.
