DENTAL CARE ON YOUR TERMS

We Start by Listening

It is common for patients visiting for the first time to carry some hesitation, whether from a previous dental experience that did not go well, or from not having attended a dental practice in a number of years.

This practice is built around that understanding. Your dentist spends dedicated time at the start of each appointment to review your dental history, understand your concerns, and address your questions fully before clinical decisions are discussed or recommended.

1

Start With a Conversation

Patients returning after a gap in their dental care are welcome. There is no expectation and no pressure, just a conversation about how we can help.

2

Come In for Your Assessment

At your first appointment, your dentist assesses your teeth, gums, and overall oral health, with imaging applied where considered clinically appropriate.

Before any treatment path is discussed, your dentist takes you through each finding and gives you a clear picture of what the options involve for your specific situation.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Tooth sensitivity often occurs when tooth enamel wears down or gum recession exposes the underlying dentine layer. Common triggers include hot or cold food and drinks, sweet items, or cold air. While occasional sensitivity may not require any intervention, persistent or worsening sensitivity is worth raising with your dentist, as it can point to tooth decay, gum disease, or other conditions that respond well to early assessment and care.

A dental bridge is a fixed restoration that fills the gap left by a missing tooth by anchoring an artificial tooth to the teeth on either side. A dental implant, by contrast, involves a post placed into the jawbone and does not rely on adjacent teeth for support. Suitability for each option depends on individual factors your dentist will assess, and both are aimed at supporting normal oral function and a comfortable long-term result.

Treatment for gum disease is guided by how advanced the condition is at the time of assessment. In earlier stages, a thorough professional clean combined with improved oral hygiene at home is often sufficient. More advanced cases may require scaling and root planing to remove deposits from beneath the gum line, and in some cases referral for further clinical review. Your dentist will outline the appropriate course of action after examining your gums.

Porcelain veneers are cared for in much the same way as natural teeth, through regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental visits. Avoiding habits such as biting hard objects or opening packaging with the teeth is advisable, as veneers can be chipped. Your dentist will provide guidance on proper care and what to watch for at follow-up appointments.

If you are experiencing significant dental pain, a broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth, or signs of dental infection such as swelling, call our clinic straight away. We will assess your situation and arrange prompt attention where clinically needed. For a knocked-out tooth, keeping it moist and attending quickly gives the most favourable prospect for the tooth to be reimplanted.
